POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Vaughn College men's soccer team secured the final Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) playoff spot after the 1-1 draw against Culinary Institute on Sunday, October 18. The Warriors trailed Culinary Institute 1-0 at the half. Junior Kevin Alvarado (Jackson Heights, NY) knotted the game at 1-1 in the 68 minute in the second half. Neither team would be able to score the go ahead goal to close out the game. After two overtime periods the game ended in a 1-1 draw propelling the Warriors into the playoffs. 

The Warriors will be the number four seed heading into the HVIAC postseason championships this weekend. They will square off against the number one seed in the tournament, Berkeley College in the semi-final round on Saturday, October 24.
