Women's Basketball: Davis 65, New Rochelle 58

JOHNSON CITY, NY - The College of New Rochelle's women's basketball team suffered a 58 - 65 loss to host Davis College on Wednesday evening. Sophomore guard Dar'Neisha Brice (California, MD) was the lead scorer for both sides netting 26 points.

The Blue Angels started off strong leading at the end of the first quarter 14 - 10. However, the team quickly found some of their key players in foul trouble going into the second quarter and would struggle to fill the gaps.

The Falcons doubled the points New Rochelle posted in the second quarter. At the end of the first half CNR was down by seven, ending with a score of 25 - 32.

Starting off the second half the Falcons took control early on. New Rochelle battled to start off their offense but shots were not falling. The Falcons outscored the Blue Angels 19 - 9 in the third quarter of the game.

CNR came out in the the fourth quarter outscoring the Falcons, 19 - 14. It was not enough to overcome the gap created by Davis in the third quarter. The Blue Angels lost by a score of 58 - 65.  

Other key leaders were seniors Chelsea Thomas (Bronx, NY) and Caitlin Harrison (Bronx, NY)each finishing with six points. Harrison also grabbed down 13 rebounds while Thomas had 12.

Women's basketball will host Pratt Institute at the Monroe Athletic Complex on Saturday, January 13 at 8:00 PM.
