Senior forward Dannie Griffin (Patterson, NJ / Paramus Catholic) celebrated her senior day with a team-high 28 rebounds to go along with 20 points in the Panthers 75-29 victory over the Vaughn College Warriors. ACPHS is now 6-11 overall and 3-3 in the HVIAC, while Vaughn drops to 3-9 overall and 0-5 in the conference.

This one was never in doubt for Albany, as they scored 20 of the first 22 points and never looked back. They ended up going into the half with a 20 point advantage, but it was after the break that they really opened up the score. The Panthers outscored Vaughn by 26 in that half, holding the Warriors to just six second-half points.

It was a game of big box scores for Albany, led by Griffin, whose final line was something to behold: 20 points, 28 rebounds, four assists, four blocks and one steal. She now sits just 25 rebounds away from her 1,000th collegiate rebound. Sophomore Emma Webster (Cadyville, NY / Saranac High) recorded a game-high 27 points, nailing seven three-pointers to go along with five assists and three steals. Sophomore Olivia Parmeter (Waddington, NY / Madrid Waddington Central) also filled up the stat sheet, grabbing ten boards in addition to her eight points and eight assists. Typically an issue for Albany, it was the turnovers that catalyzed the lopsided score, with ACPHS forcing 25 and committing just seven.

This was a big conference win for the Panthers, but they need some help if they hope to qualify for the HVIAC tournament. They sit in fourth place now, but need the King's College to upset Pratt Institute next Thursday for them to enter the four-team field. They will continue their season tomorrow though, as they host non-conference foe Fisher College tomorrow, February 11th.
