BROOKLYN – The Cannoneers of Pratt Institute clinched their spot in the upcoming Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament with a 51-40 conference win over the Lions of King's College on Thursday evening – senior night – in the ARC.

With the victory, Pratt moves to 9-12 on the season, including 3-3 overall in HVIAC play. With their victory over Albany Pharmacy earlier this month, the Cannoneers own the tie breaker and secure the #4 seed.

Senior guard Anna Bryce, playing in her final home game for Pratt, tallied 12 points, four rebounds, and five steals. Amissa Epperson, the reigning HVIAC conference player of the week, added a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds while also rejecting seven shots. AimeeLyn Miller, back after missing the team's previous four games, hit four 3-pointers and scored a team-high 14 points.

Struggling with turnovers and down 11-5 in the first quarter, Emily Guerra's driving layup provided Pratt with a much needed spark. A pair of Miller threes, coupled with an Anna Bryce layup, gave the Cannoneers a lead they would relinquish. In the second quarter, the Cannoneers would be clutch from the charity stripe, hitting on 8-of-12 free throw attempts to extend their lead to 10 at the break.

After intermission, back-to-back layups by Idalia Kaplan and Amissa Epperson increased the Cannoneers lead to 15. In the fourth, King's would rally, but threes by Miller and Jen Klockner ended any hopes of a Lions comeback as Pratt coasted to the 51-40 victory.

Prior to tonight's game, Pratt athletics honored three seniors who were playing their final game for the Cannoneers – Sally SongJen Klockner, and Anna Bryce.

UP NEXT – The Cannoneers will travel to the campus of the College of New Rochelle for their first round playoff matchup against Davis College. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00pm.
