Women's Basketball: New Rochelle 82, King's 44

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – The women's basketball team hosted The King's College Lions on Friday night in the Wellness Center for their final conference match-up in regular season. The team secured an impressive win over the Lions with a final score of 82 – 44. The win improved the Blue Angels conference record to 5-1 and their overall record to 9 – 11.

It was a special night for the Athletic Department with three seniors honored before the game. Caitlin Harrison(Bronx, N.Y.)Lyndsey Edwards (Baltimore, MD) and Chelsea Thomas (Bronx, NY) are all in their final season with the Blue Angels.  This was Edwards second season with the women's basketball team; Thomasand Harrison are four-year members of the program. They have become fixtures for the women's basketball team and the athletic department, whose presence will be missed.

Senior Caitlin Harrison led the way for her team with an impressive performance in the win. She finished with a game high 17 rebounds and a career high 19 points.  Harrison also added six steals and three assists to finish off the night.

Senior Lyndsey Edwards recorded a double-double for the first time in her career. She grabbed 11 rebounds and sank 11 points in the win over King's. Fellow senior Chelsea Thomas added six points and three assists in the win.

The Blue Angels will be back at it Saturday afternoon, February 10 at home against York College. Tip-off is at 1:00 PM.
