NEW ROCHELLE, NY -   Thanks to a 61-38 second half point domination, the College of New Rochelle earned a 109-85 victory over Davis College in Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action Wednesday night in the Wellness Center.  The win pushed CNR to 8-10 overall and 3-2 in the league.  Davis falls to 2-16 and 1-3 in the conference.

For the first time in program history, six different Blue Angels reached double digits in scoring, led by freshmen Elijah Harris (Flushing, NY) with a game best 21. He also grabbed 10 boards to earn the double double, while freshmen Matthew Dean (Marlboro, NJ) also had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.   Freshmen Hunter Schenkel (Sayville, NY) had 19, while junior Jack Tisdale (Dayton, OH) and freshmen Dante Pulido (Brooklyn, NY) added 14 apiece.  Freshmen Glen O'Loughlin (Yorktown Heights, NY) rounded out the scoring with 10.  Tisdale added a game-high six helpers.

It was clearly a tale of two halves, as the beginning Davis was raining in threes, allowing them to maintain a narrow lead for much of the period.  The Falcons shot 11-for-23 from behind the arc in the first half putting them behind by only 1 at the half 48-47.

But, early in the 2nd, leading scorer (at the time) for Davis Duke Guo went to the bench with his third foul, and CNR took advantage, running out to an 11 point lead.  Davis got it back to single digits briefly before CNR started to benefit from Davis fouls.  CNR ended the night 26-for-26 from the line, while Davis was only awarded 24 trips, making just 16.  This allowed the Blue Angels to expand to an 18 point lead and never look back.

CNR also won the battle on the boards 49-36 and took care of the ball, making just 10 turnovers.  Davis made 26 miscues leading to 33 points.

CNR is back in action on Friday when it hosts Albany Pharmacy in a critical HVIAC match.  The two teams are neck in neck for the playoff hunt.
