NEW ROCHELLE, NY -  The College of New Rochelle men's basketball team rolled past Pratt Institute, 107-80, in Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action Monday night in the Wellness Center.  With the win CNR secures either the 2nd or 3rd seed in the upcoming HVIAC playoffs.  The win also vaults the Blue Angels back to the .500 mark at 12-12.  Pratt falls to 5-10.

For CNR, it culminates an historic season, as the men's basketball team makes the post-season in its first season of competition.

It was the Hunter Schenkel (Sayville, NY) show, as the freshmen shot a blistering 12-for-13 (92%) from the field including an 8-for-8 performance from downtown.  Those eight trifectas is a program record for most threes in a game.  He would finish the night with a game-high 32 points to lead CNR.

Freshmen Matthew Dean (Marlboro, NJ) added 17 while freshmen Elijah Harris (Flushing, NY) added 14 points. For Dean, it was his third straight double-digit game.

CNR which led from the early part of the game until the end got 40 points from its bench, while shutting out the Cannoneers.  Freshmen Kobe Telford (Brooklyn, NY) led the bench scorers with nine, while freshmen Jonatan Garcia (New Rochelle, NY) had a season-best eight.

CNR which led 55-24 at the half, shot 52% from the field and 48% from downtown, one of its best shooting performances on the season.

Now, the Blue Angels must await the result of the Pratt vs. Vaughn contest Thursday night to determine their regular season finish.  A Pratt win and New Rochelle finishes 2nd, a Vaughn win and the Blue Angels settle for third.  Regardless, CNR will play Vaughn, who they lost to 75-70 in the regular season, in the semi-final matchup of the HVIAC tournament Saturday.
