The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recognizes the following Student-Athletes for their performance in Week #6 of the 2023-2024 Men's and Women's Soccer season.
This week the honor of Men's Soccer Player of the Week goes to Joseph Mathews, from The Word of Life Bible Institute. Mathews scored twice in a Huskies 3-1 victory over USCAA opponent, Paul Smith's College He also registered a hat trick (3 goals) three days later in a 5-2 win over NHTI.
Erick Gruver from Five Towns College has also been selected as Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Week #6. Gruver shot the ball four times and scored twice, as the Sound defeated USCAA and HVIAC Men's Soccer #1 ranked Berkeley College 5-0.
A Note worthy performance came from Five Towns College's Sebastian Cuenca. Cuenca put on an impressive defensive display in neutralizing Berkeley College's offensive drives in a Sound victory against the Knights.
On the Women's Soccer side of the HVIAC for Week #6, no games were scheduled.
