Men's and Women's Basketball Players of the Week (Week #8)

The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recognizes the following Student-Athletes for their performance in Week #8 of the 2023-2024 Men's and Women's Basketball season.

This week the honor of Men's Basketball Player of the Week goes to Karaja Bright from Berkeley College. During the week, Bright averaged 13 points and 5.5 rebounds, as the Knights claim back-to-back victories against USCAA Men's Division II Basketball opponents.

Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for Week #8 goes to Joseph Matthew from the Word of Life Bible Institute. Over the course of two games, Matthew averaged 15 points, and 5.5 rebounds.

Notable performances came from Tyler Bond from Five Towns College and Quentin Lackey from the Word of Life Bible Institute. Bond scored 19 points in a Sound victory over WOLBI. Lackey averaged 25.5 points and 7.5 rebounds for the Huskies over the span of two games.

On the Women's Basketball side of the HVIAC for Week #8, the honor of Women's Basketball Player of the Week goes to Judith Girones of Five Towns College. Girones scored an impressive 24 points and grabbed 4 boards against the Word of Life Bible Institute.

MJ Buck from Five Towns College has been tabbed as Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week. Buck scored 16 points, dished out the ball 3 times, and snatched 5 rebounds, in a conference loss to Five Towns College.

A noteworthy performance came from Allison Baker from the Word of Life Bible Institute. The freshmen grabbed 10 rebounds and scored 3 points in a Huskies loss against Five Towns College.
