Men's and Women's Basketball Players of the Week (Week #7)

The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recognizes the following Student-Athletes for their performance in Week #7 of the 2023-2024 Men's and Women's Basketball season.

This week the honor of Men's Basketball Player of the Week goes to Santi Manero from Villa Maria College. Manero scored 13 points, shooting 86% from the field, and snatched 13 boards posting a double-double for the Vikings.

Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for Week #7 goes to Rickey Jones of Berkeley College. In 40 minutes of play over the span of 4 games, Jones consistently averaged 8.5 points per game.

A notable performance came from Karaja Bright from Berkeley College. During the week, Bright averaged 17.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2 assists.

On the Women's Basketball side of the HVIAC for Week #7, the honor of Women's Basketball Player of the Week goes to Keisy Villanueva of Berkeley College. Over the course of two games, Villanueva averaged 26 points,12.5 rebounds, 6 blocks, and 4 steals.

Talaya Guirantes from Five Towns College has been tabbed as Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week. Guirantes posted two double-doubles during the week against USCAA Division I opponents. 24 points,18 rebounds against Bryant and Stratton College, Buffalo and, 16 points,16 rebounds in a Sound victory over #1 ranked University of Maine Fort Kent.
