Knights Advance to Finals

The Women's Basketball Semi-Final featured the #2 Seed Berkeley College against # 3 Seed Word of Life Bible Institute. During the regular season, the Knights bested the Huskies 65-52, setting the stage for an highly contested Semi-Final rematch.

The opening quarter began as expected with both teams showing signs of post-season jitters, the Huskies would score first off a jumper by Dakota Cutting. Keisy Villanueva would tie the game at 3-3 and get the Knights on the board. The remainder of the first quarter would be tightly contested with neither team taking a significant lead. Allison Henderson and Kayli Hayden would give WOLBI a slight advantage; while balanced scoring from Za'Nya Henderson, Kanijah Jacobs, and Jordan Washington, gave Berkeley College a 19-15 lead as the quarter closed.

The second quarter belonged to the Knights. A barrage of scoring off of rebounds and turnovers lead to a 14-0 run for Berkeley College, the Huskies managed to break this late in the quarter off of a jumper from Rachel Sheaffer. The Knights would take a 17 point lead into halftime, the score 35-18.

The second half was dominated by Berkeley College as turnovers and missed shots lead to the Huskies struggles in keeping the game within range. As the third quarter came to an end, the Knights would hold a 36 point advantage.

Berkeley College would amass a 49 point lead and go on to win the game, 74-25. The Knights were paced by Keisy Villanueva with 27 points and 18 rebounds.

The #2 Seed Berkeley College will face #1 Seed Five Towns College in the title game scheduled for Sunday, March 3, 2024 tip-off at 1:00 pm.
