The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recognizes the following Student-Athletes for their performance in Week #6 of the 2023-2024 Men's and Women's Basketball season.
This week the honor of Men's Basketball Player of the Week goes to Juston Johnson of Villa Maria College. Johnson scored 26 points, shooting 50% from beyond the arch and perfectly connecting 6-6 from the free throw line. The Vikings dropped a close game to USCAA opponent, Kent State University, Tuscarawas, 80-77.
On the Women's Basketball side of the HVIAC for Week #6, the honor of Women's Basketball Player of the Week goes to Talaya Guirantes from Five Towns College. Guirantes scored 32 points, grabbed 12 boards, swatted the ball 2 times,and racked up 2 steals against NCAA Division I institution, Army.
Her outstanding performance also earned the honor of, USCAA Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
