Men's and Women's Basketball Players of the Week (Week #3)

The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recognizes the following Student-Athletes for their performance in Week #3 of the 2023-2024 Men's and Women's Basketball season.

This week the honor of Men's Basketball Player of the Week goes to Juston Johnson from Villa Maria College. Johnson scored 31 points shooting 50% from 3 point range, grabbed 3 boards, and dished out 4 assists in the Vikings win against Five Towns College. 

A noteworthy performance was had by Karanja Bright of Berkeley College. Bright shot nearly 60% from the field, snatched 8 rebounds, distributed the ball 1.5 times, and blocked 3.5 shots against USCAA Division I opponent, Atlantis University.

On the Women's Basketball side of the HVIAC for Week #3, the honor of Women's Basketball Player of the Week goes to Talaya Guirantes from Five Towns College. Guirantes scored 17 points, shot 8-for-8 from the line, and rebounded the ball 11 times as the Sound defeated Villa Maria College.

Notable performances were had by Jordan Tobin of Five Towns College and Za'Nya Henderson fro Berkeley College. Tobin posted a double-double(23 pts., 17 reb.) against Villa Maria College. Henderson scored a team high of 22 points, and grabbed 9 rebounds in the Knights thrilling victory over USCAA Division I opponent, Bryant & Stratton College, Albany.
